Quest’anno la religione avrà un ruolo centrale nella serie, anche per l’ingresso in scena di fratello Sam (interpretato da Mos Def), un ex detenuto che sembra aver trovato la retta via grazie alla fede, ma che in realtà prosegue nella lunga scia di violenza che lo caratterizzava prima del suo arresto.
Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) entrerà in contatto con la religione e con la fede, e inizierà a chiedersi se la sua può essere o no una missione.
