Crusher Joe (クラッシャージョウ, KurasshÄ JÅ?) is a series of science fiction light novels by Haruka Takachiho and released by Asahi Sonorama from 1979 to 1983. During the late 1970s one of the founding fathers of Studio Nue, Takachiho decided that besides being a designer he would try his hand at penning novels. The result was Crusher Joe', a group of anti-heroes who were not the typical self-sacrificing types but noble in their own rights nonetheless.
Crusher Joe: The Movie Joe and his team are hired to med-evac a cryogenically frozen heiress to the planet Miccola, only to have her kidnapped out from under their noses while in hyperspace! Before they know it, the team gets accused of space piracy by the United Space Force and suspended by Crusher HQ.
In order to clear their names, they'll have to travel to the most lawless planet in the galaxy and take on the notorious "Big Murphy," a pirate so nasty that his idea of a good time is blowing up entire planets!
Il corpo mercenario dei Crusher vi risolve qualsiasi problema purchè rientri nei limiti della legalità . Proprio un incarico poco pulito diventa fonte di mille difficoltà per Joe e compagni. Per dimostrare che le accuse di pirateria sono infondate dovranno affrontare la banda del crudele Big Murphy tra inseguimenti intergalattici, conflitti a fuoco, incontri con animali impensabili… il tutto condito con una generosa dose di umorismo.
Tuffatevi nell’universo di Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, disegnatore di Gundam e Dirty Pair, nonché creatore di Arion e Venus Wars, che costella di fulminee apparizioni dei suoi personaggi anche questo Crusher Joe, magistralmente animato per il cinema, dove incontrerete Shia e Pallina (da Gundam), e anche le Dirty Pair, sarcastica apparizione sullo schermo di un futuristico drive-in.
