In una terra lontana vivevano tanti anni fa Re Stefano e la sua bella Regina. Per molti anni avevano desiderato una figlia: quando finalmente nacque le imposero il nome di Aurora. Al battesimo fu invitato tutto il popolo ed inoltre il buon Re Uberto, suo figlio Filippo, e le tre Fate del bene: Flora, Fauna e Serenella. Mentre una delle tre fatine sta per annunciare il suo dono, appare Malefica, la Fata del male, che, indignata per non essere stata invitata, scaglia una maledizione contro Aurora: prima di compiere il sedicesimo anno di età, la fanciulla si pungerà la mano toccando un arcolaio e morrà. Interviene Serenella, la quale attenua il maleficio, sostituendo alla morte un sonno profondo, dal quale Aurora si sveglierà al primo bacio d'amore. Le tre buone Fate vigilano con affettuosa solerzia per evitare che la fanciulla sia vittima del fatale accidente, che le è stato predetto, ma tutte le loro cure risultano vane: prima di compiere il sedicesimo anno, Aurora, spinta da Malefica, tocca un arcolaio e s'addormenta. Ma il Principe Filippo, che è divenuto un baldo giovanotto, essendo innamorato di Aurora, la bacia ed ella si sveglia dal lungo sonno. Potranno cosi' sposarsi e vivranno felici per molti anni. Lo spettacolo comprende inoltre la proiezione del documentario "Grand Canyon", (m. 827), che si puo' considerare una pittoresca interpretazione della famosa suite musicale di Ferde Grofè, e presenta vedute della celebre gola montana del Colorado, riprese nelle varie ore del giorno e nelle diverse stagioni.
