Sessantacinque milioni di anni fa una pioggia di meteoriti getta nel caos il mondo dei Dinosauri. Il piccolo iguanodonte orfano Aladar vive su un'isola con un branco di lemuri che lo hanno adottato, guidati dal severo capo Kron. Quando uno dei meteoriti cade nei pressi dell'isola, il gruppo è costretto a cercare riparo sulla terraferma. Qui incontreranno altri dinosauri e nuovi pericoli ma, secondo Aladar, con lo spirito di adattabilità e la collaborazione, tutto si può risolvere.TRAMA LUNGASiamo nell'era del tardo Cretaceo, 65 milioni di anni or sono. L'iguanodonte Aladar è stato separato dal branco quando era ancora un ovetto ed è stato allevato su un'isola da un clan di lemuri. Quando una devastante pioggia di meteoriti getta il suo mondo nel caos, Aladar, insieme ai vari membri della sua famiglia adottiva, ritiene opportuno cercare rifugio sulla terraferma. Qui giunto, si unisce ad un gruppo di dinosauri in fuga verso un luogo sicuro dove poter nidificare. Avendo poco cibo e poca acqua a disposizione e con la minaccia costante di predatori assetati di sangue, il branco si mette in cammino e affronta pericoli di ogni genere. Il capobranco Kron impone ritmi faticosissimi, ed è disposto ad eliminare chi non riesce a tenere il passo. Aladar si sente in dovere di intervenire e, così facendo, si mette in urto con Kron. La sorella di Kron, Neera, è conquistata dalle capacità e dalla gentilezza di Aladar, e si mette dalla sua parte. Dopo un aspro duello, Kron muore. Aladar si mette alla testa del gruppo e lo conduce verso i luoghi tanto attesi per fermarsi e nidificare.
