Negli anni Trenta in Corea, durante la colonizzazione giapponese, la giovane Sookee viene assunta come cameriera per la ricca giapponese Hideko, che vive reclusa in un enorme palazzo sotto il controllo del tirannico zio. Sookee però ha un segreto: con l'aiuto di un truffatore che si fa passare per un conte giapponese ha in mente altri piani per Hideko.
In the thirties in Korea during the Japanese colonization, the young Sookee is hired as a maid for the rich Japanese Hideko, a recluse who lives in a huge palace under the tyrannical control uncle. But Sookee has a secret: with the help of a con man who is posing as a Japanese Count has other plans in mind for Hideko.
