Tornano i coniugi Warren, investigatori del paranormale, per un nuovo terrificante caso da risolvere. Dopo il successo di pubblico e critica, arriva il secondo capitolo dell'horror pronto a lasciare tutti ancora una volta con il fiato sospeso fino all'ultimo secondo. Alla fine del 1977, con gli strascichi di Long Island che ancora li ossessionavano, i Warren si erano imposti una pausa di riflessione e si erano recati a Londra, dove dovettero affrontare un'entità demoniaca che si era insediata nella casa della famiglia Hodgson, nel popolare quartiere di Enfield. Quella che da molti era considerata una mistificazione, divenne uno dei casi più documentati nella storia del paranormale.
