L'idea di presentare un gruppo di ladri - guidati da Danny Ocean - che si scontrano con un altro malfattore, il famoso Francois Toulour, per restituire il bottino a chi ha subito il precedente furto - Terry Benedict - può essere interessante, perché presenta due rivali abbastanza potenti. Il fatto però di esserci una somma di attori che nell'attuale panorama di Hollywood è leggendario, mina la credibilità della storia: cominciamo a guardare il film, vediamo Julia Roberts e pensiamo che ci sarà lei come protagonista. Dopo dieci minuti scompare per dare la scena a George Clooney e siamo portati a pensare che sarà lui: passa altro tempo e troviamo Brad Pitt. Trascorrono quaranta minuti e compare l'agente Catherine Zeta-Jones: alla fine quali sono gli attori? Tutti? Non pare, quando ci vengono presentato ci sono date delle storielle della loro vita che nulla hanno a che fare con la trama del film.
