Plot :

Morris "Mud" Himmel has a problem – his parents want to send him away to a summer computer camp. He hates going to summer camp, and would do anything to get out of it. Talking to his friends, he realizes that they are all facing the same sentence: a boring summer camp. Together with them, he hatches a plan to create their own summer camp with no parents, no counselors, and no rules. They blackmail former drama teacher Dennis Van Welker into helping. He had bought an AMC Gremlin and failed to make most of the payments and is being pursued by soon-to-retire collector T.R. Polk, and agrees to help them in return for $1,000.

With Dennis's help, the kids trick all the parents into sending them to the camp, and then rent a campground with a cabin on a lake. Some parents believe it is a...

Trama :

Morris "Mud" Himmel ha un problema. I suoi genitori vogliono disperatamente mandarlo ad un campeggio estivo, cosa che il ragazzino odia e per questo farebbe di tutto per uscirne fuori. Parlando coi suoi amici, capisce che anche ognuno di loro deve affrontare lo stesso problema: trascorrere l'estate in un noioso campeggio. Assieme ai suoi amici, organizza un piano per ingannare tutti i genitori facendo loro credere di frequentare un campeggio, ma in realtà Mud ne realizza uno a sua arte, che in effetti sarebbe una sorta di "paradiso senza genitori". Ricattando l'insegnante di drammatizzazione Dennis Van Welker affinché li aiuti, affittano un terreno con una cabina e un lago. La prima notte lì i ragazzini richiedono il denaro pagato dai genitori per iscriverli al campeggio. Il giorno successivo lo spendono quasi tutto in cose atte al loro divertimento. Presto però si stancano di questo "campeggio" e sentono di dover chiamare i genitori e...
