Nel 1996, il cacciatore di tesori Brock Lovett e il suo team si immergono negli abissi dell'oceano Atlantico esplorando il relitto del Titanic, al fine di recuperare una collana chiamata il "cuore dell'oceano". Nella cassaforte recuperata nelle macarie del Titanic, invece del diamante, trovano il disegno di una donna nuda che lo indossa, datato 14 aprile 1912, la notte in cui la nave colpì l'iceberg. Un'anziana donna, Rose Dawson Calvert, segue la notizia e viene a conoscenza del ritratto trovato. Decide di contattare Lovett per dirgli che la donna del ritratto è lei. Nel 1912, la diciassettenne aristocratica Rose (Kate Winslet) era salita a bordo della nave a Southampton, in Inghilterra, con il suo fidanzato Cal, il figlio di un magnate dell'industria dell'acciaio, e con sua madre Ruth DeWitt Bukater. Turbata dal suo fidanzamento con Cal,che a suo modo la ama ma come un oggetto di sua proprietà, dalla pressione della madre su di lei e dalla prospettiva di una vita segnata interamente dal rigido rispetto dell'etichetta, Rose decide di buttarsi dalla poppa della nave. Prima di saltare, un artista-vagabondo chiamato Jack Dawson (Leonardo Di Caprio) interviene e la convince a non buttarsi. Da quel momento Jack e Rose sviluppano un sentimento di amicizia che diventerà poi amore.

Questa versione del film è in pratica la theatrical cut in italiano con l'aggiunta delle scene tagliate dal regista in inglese.
Grazie al programma di editing di adobe ho inserito durante il film le scene modificate o aggiuntive presenti nel Blu-Ray originale.
Inoltre in ogni parte con audio in inglese, ho creato dei sottotitoli che compaiono automaticamente per facilitare la comprensione.
