Los Angeles, 2004. Dieci anni dopo la distruzione della Cyberdyne Systems, John Connor, vive senza una casa, un telefono, documenti di identità, privo di un fisso lavoro. Sua madre, Sarah, è morta di leucemia
poco tempo dopo l'atteso 1997, in cui non è scoppiato l'olocausto nucleare che si attendeva a causa degli eventi narrati nei film precedenti.
Ma qualcosa di strano, negli ultimi giorni, sta succedendo per il mondo: i servizi segreti americani stanno ultimando le modifiche finali sul supercomputer Skynet, ma inaspettatamente è stata riscontrata
l'esistenza di un virus informatico che sta mettendo fuori uso i computer, gli armamenti, le comunicazioni ad ogni livello.
A sorpresa, dal futuro, giungono due nuovi cyborg. Il T-850, esteriormente identico al T-800 incaricato di proteggerlo nel 1994 ma leggermente più avanzato, ha il compito di proteggere il ventenne John, mentre
l'altro, un cyborg dalle fattezze femminili, una Terminatrix, di un modello ultramoderno, ha ricevuto da Skynet l'incarico di uccidere i suoi futuri luogotenenti, poiché in questo periodo John risulta .....
Storyline
More than 10 years after 'Terminator 2', John Connor now exists only as a drifter - living 'off the grid', so no more Terminators from the future can hunt him down. Unfortunately, SkyNet does send another one
back - and this one is called the T-X, even more powerful & advanced than the dreaded T-1000. However, another CSM-101 Terminator is also sent back to protect John against the T-X. Now, Skynet is patiently
assuming control of civilian computer systems, under the guise of a computer virus. John has also met his future wife, Kate Brewster, whose father - a U.S. Air Force General - is in charge of the military
computer systems & is leery of up linking SkyNet. However, when the SkyNet virus infects the U.S military computers & leaves the country open to attack, the machines begin their horrific takeover. Soon a
