La bellezza è verità? (Is There in Truth No Beauty?) - 1968
Trama L\'Enterprise è incaricata di riportare sul proprio pianeta d\'origine un medusano, una specie di grande intelligenza ma la cui vista, a causa della bruttezza, è sufficiente a far impazzire un essere umano. Per tenere i contatti col mondo esterno si serve della dottoressa Miranda Jones, di cui Lawrence Marvick, un altro dei passeggeri, è geloso. Nel tentativo di uccidere l\'ambasciatore, Marvick impazzisce, spingendo la nave fuori rotta e in posizione sconosciuta. Per ritornare indietro Spock tenta una fusione con l\'ambasciatore, ma nel momento del distacco lo guarda senza protezione, finendo in coma.
Plot On stardate 5630.7, the USS Enterprise picks up a Medusan ambassador named Kollos. The ambassador belongs to a race of energy-based creatures, emotionally beautiful on the inside, yet with an outward appearance so hideous it drives humanoids insane. The Federation seeks a council with the Medusans for a technology trade, especially in the area of improved navigation equipment for all starships.

Lo spettro di una pistola (Spectre of the Gun) - 1968
Trama L\'Enterprise, ricevuto l\'ordine di contattare i melkotiani, entra nel loro spazio ignorando una boa che intima all\'equipaggio di non oltrepassarla. In risposta i melkotiani trasportano Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scott e Chekov in una riproduzione di una cittadina del vecchio West in cui dovranno ripetere la famosa sfida dell\'OK Corral nei panni dei perdenti, i Clanton.
Plot On stardate 4385.3, the starship USS Enterprise is instructed to make peaceful contact with the Melkotians, the mysterious alien inhabitants of Theta Kiokis II, but is warned away by a strange space buoy that orders it not to proceed to the Melkotians\' planet. Ignoring the warning, Kirk takes the Enterprise to the planet anyway. Captain Kirk assembles a landing party consisting of himself, his first officer Mr. Spock, chief engineer Montgomery Scott, chief medical officer Dr. Leonard McCoy, and navigator Pavel Chekov and beams down to the surface of the planet to make contact. The Melkotians are angered by this and imprison the team in a psychic illusion that takes the form of the town of Tombstone, Arizona on Earth upon the historic date October 26, 1881.

La forza dell\'odio (Day of the Dove) - 1968
Trama L\'Enterprise e un vascello klingon si incontrano nei pressi di Beta XII-Alfa. Kirk e i suoi sono convinti che tutti i coloni di quel pianeta siano stati uccisi dai klingon e questi credono che l\'Enterprise abbia danneggiato la loro nave; saliti a bordo come prigionieri, i klingon riescono a liberarsi grazie all\'improvvisa trasformazione di alcuni oggetti in spade. Tra i federali e i klingon inizia lo scontro per il controllo della nave, ma Kirk sospetta che dietro vi sia l\'opera di un\'entità aliena.
Plot On stardate 5630.3, the starship USS Enterprise receives a distress call from a human colony on Beta XII-A. The colony is apparently under attack by an unknown vessel. On arrival, the Enterprise finds no sign of an enemy ship. Captain Kirk beams down with a landing party to investigate the planet but they find no evidence of a human settlement ever having been there.

Ho toccato il cielo (For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky) - 1968
Trama L\'Enterprise scopre che gli unici superstiti di una colonia terrestre sono cinque bambini, che tuttavia non sembrano minimamente scossi dalla morte dei loro genitori, apparentemente suicidatisi. Mentre la nave li trasporta verso una colonia spaziale, i bambini, guidati da una misteriosa entità, tentano di prenderne il controllo.
Plot On stardate 5029.5, the starship USS Enterprise intercepts a distress call from the planet Triacus, where a scientific expedition is located. Arriving at the planet, Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy, and Mr. Spock beam down to investigate. They find the expedition leader, Professor Starnes, has gone insane; he almost immediately dies. The other adult members of the team have apparently committed suicide. However, the expedition\'s five children (led by Starnes\'s preteen son Tommy) remain alive and well, continuing to play as if nothing has happened.
